Northwest Connecticut House

A lakeside house for a couple with grown children and impending grandchildren. We took pains to retain many trees on the shore so the house wouldn’t intrude on the bucolic experience of the lake. A spacious living / dining area forms the heart of the house with the kitchen, bedrooms, and ancillary spaces gathered around it on three sides. A garage with attic space is attached to the landward side and helps form a welcoming entrance court.
